Lewis Hamilton has insisted that he is happy with his driving performances so far this weekend, despite being slower than Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg in both practices at the British Grand Prix.
The world champion's gap at the top of the standings has dwindled in recent weeks after Rosberg won three of the last four races, meaning that the German moves to within 10 points of Hamilton.
Even though Hamilton finished fourth in second practice, the Englishman maintains that he is "okay" with his performance so far.
"It's been an okay day," Hamilton told Sky Sports News.
"It's been pretty smooth after the start of the session in P1 but otherwise it's been great and the fans have been incredible so far. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them over the weekend.
"The car wasn't feeling bad today, so I think it's going to be close. The Ferraris are quite close as well so it should be a good race."
Hamilton will have the chance to improve on his performances in Saturday's third practice, ahead of qualifying at Silverstone.
