Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg will not face any punishment for allegedly breaching rules in qualifying at the British Grand Prix.
The 31-year-old was under investigation for appearing to exceed the maximum time allowed between two safety car lines.
However, after explaining the situation to the stewards' office, it was decided that he will not face a grid penalty or a sanction of any kind.
According to motorsport.com, it was found that Rosberg was on a lap to cool down his tyres when the time was set, therefore not breaching the rules.
"Car 6 was not on an in lap when the time between the Safety Car lines was set," the stewards are quoted as saying.
Rosberg qualified second behind teammate and championship rival Lewis Hamilton.
