Daniel Ricciardo has claimed his first victory in Formula 1, overtaking Nico Rosberg late on to win the Canadian Grand Prix this evening.
Ricciardo's Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel completed the podium, passing Sergio Perez on the final lap to move up into third.
Perez was unable to finish the race after he collided with Felipe Massa while battling the Brazilian for fourth, resulting in the Grand Prix finishing under the safety car.
The safety car was also brought out on the opening lap after Max Chilton spun, crashing into Marussia teammate Jules Bianchi, taking them both out of the race.
Lewis Hamilton and Rosberg were battling for the lead for the first half of the race, but both Mercedes cars suffered a loss of power, eventually resulting in the Briton's brakes failing.
The German was able to nurse his car to the end, but came under pressure in the final laps from Ricciardo, Perez and Vettel, before the Australian passed him using DRS to secure his maiden win in F1.
Ricciardo's win ends Mercedes' run of winning every race in 2014.
