Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has hailed his entire team after he secured pole position for tomorrow's German Grand Prix.
The Brit had complained ever since the first practice session that he did not feel comfortable in the car. However, after a number of changes, the 2008 champion was able to finish ahead of the field come the end of the qualifying process earlier today.
"It's really overwhelming. I've been struggling since the first run in P1. It was pretty good. P2 and P3 were disasters and it got worse this morning. I wasn't comfortable with the car at all," he told BBC Sport.
"We went back to truck, tried to analyse everything and made lots of changes and hoped it would work. Fortunately the car was beneath me and I was able to put the times. I'm grateful to the guys and all the hard work they put in."
The 28-year-old has won on two previous occasions at the Nurburgring.
