Nico Rosberg will start the German Grand Prix in pole position having edged out Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying this afternoon.
Rosberg had been quicker than the reigning champion in each of the three practice sessions, and he once again pipped the Brit to pole by finishing one tenth of a second in front.
The German will now go into his home grand prix looking to move back ahead of Hamilton in the championship, with the latter having taken the lead for the first time this season courtesy of victory in Hungary last time out.
Red Bull pair Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen finished third and fourth respectively, while Ferrari duo Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel make up the top six.
Rosberg will be on pole for the 27th time in his career, putting him one ahead of Mika Hakkinen in the all-time standings.
