Mercedes boss Niki Lauda praises "sensational" Ferrari for their performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix, after seeing Sebastian Vettel come out on top.

Niki Lauda has admitted that this afternoon's Hungarian Grand Prix has acted as a "wake-up race" for Mercedes.

Championship leader Lewis Hamilton was forced to settle for sixth place in Budapest, while teammate Nico Rosberg finished down in eighth after puncturing his tyres.

Despite seeing his team struggle during the dramatic race, Mercedes boss Lauda insists that he is not overly concerned at this stage.

"Lewis was very aggressive today, twice. Ferrari were sensational so congratulations to them," he told BBC Sport after seeing Sebastian Vettel come out on top. "It was a wake-up race for us. I am not worried or bothered - these things happen in racing."

Mercedes duo Hamilton and Rosberg still hold claim to the top two spots in the drivers' standings.
