Mercedes' driver lineup is "fine" despite crossing the finish line at the sweltering Singapore GP both dehydrated and utterly drained.
Race winner Lando Norris admitted his "head is spinning" post-race, while Nico Hulkenberg disclosed an astonishing weight loss of 3 kilograms due to sweating.
However, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were so fatigued after enduring the extreme heat inside their 2024 Mercedes cars that their media obligations were cancelled by the team.
"They are both suffering from overheating, but they are fine now," explained team boss Toto Wolff.
"They've been in ice baths, and I think that helped somewhat," he added.
Although F1 drivers are required to attend interviews for TV and print media, the FIA accepted Mercedes' reason for Hamilton and Russell's absence.
Wolff was also questioned about Christian Horner's earlier remark in Singapore, suggesting that Russell could be a potential candidate for Red Bull in 2026.
"Christian always tries to stir up trouble," Wolff responded.
"But that's part of the game. George is a Mercedes driver, he always has been, and hopefully he always will be. We have a long contract with him," Wolff affirmed. body check tags ::
