Lewis Hamilton has grown "increasingly agitated" by the lack of information made public surrounding Fernando Alonso's pre-season crash, a report claims.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has reportedly called on Formula 1 chiefs to release further information regarding Fernando Alonso's recent crash during pre-season testing.

The incident still remains a mystery after the Spaniard rebuffed claims suggesting that a gust of wind caused the accident, instead revealing that a steering issue was to blame.

Now, according to the Sunday Telegraph, Hamilton has become "increasingly agitated" by the lack of further comment from both McLaren and FIA members.

It is also claimed that Hamilton was taken to one side during Friday night's drivers' briefing by experienced race director Charlie Whiting, who assured the reigning world champion that there was no evidence of McLaren failing in their duties at the Circuit de Catalunya last month.

Alonso spent three days in hospital following the crash, which forced him to miss the opening race of the season in Australia, although he was given the green light to return to the track for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix.
