Pirelli have blamed the track surfaces for a lack of competitive racing in Formula 1 in recent weeks.
The F1 tyre supplier says that the asphalt on modern tracks like India and Korea doesn't cause as much degradation as circuits like Sepang in Malaysia.
Pirelli's motorsport director Paul Hembery told Autosport: "It was a small minority who were pleased, but the vast majority were quite outspoken and said boring races are what could happen if we are not careful.
"There is a specification of asphalt being used which, for what we are trying to achieve, is not very useful. If we could take the Malaysian track surface around with us, then we would have more interesting races."
Sebastian Vettel led last Sunday's Indian Grand Prix from start to finish.
Pirelli are predicting low tyre wear at this weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
