Daniel Ricciardo has refuted suggestions that Red Bull are struggling in their preparations for the new season and believes that the team are ready for this month's Australian Grand Prix.

The 25-year-old, who won three races in his debut season at the Milton Keynes outfit last year, broke down at the start of the final day of winter testing in Barcelona due to an ERS problem.

However, Ricciardo has insisted that Red Bull are ready to compete in Melbourne, despite questions regarding pre-season reliability.

He is quoted by Motorsport.com as saying: "For me personally, I feel ready to race – we'll be good for Melbourne.

"We did a bit on the lower fuel [on Sunday], I guess more performance style, then we did some longer runs as well.

"So, yeah, I think it was OK. The good news is we're going to Melbourne."

Ricciardo finished second in last year's Australian Grand Prix, but was disqualified for breaching fuel regulations.
