The news that Jos Verstappen will attend the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend has ignited speculation about potential renewed behind-the-scenes drama within the Red Bull team.
Jos, father of championship leader Max Verstappen and a prominent figure in his management team, had a major clash with Red Bull's team principal, Christian Horner, earlier this season and has largely stayed away from the paddock ever since.
According to Bild newspaper, the tension may now be heightened by the fact that another crucial figure in Max's management, Raymond Vermeulen, has also been notably absent from recent races. Bild reports, "According to reports, the Verstappens are at odds with (Vermeulen) over investment in a sim racing team."
Additionally, Bild suggests that the rumors surrounding the Verstappen camp's internal disagreements may have even been circulated by Horner himself.
In a direct comment to Bild, Jos Verstappen shared that his primary reason for attending the Brazilian GP is to support Max in his championship efforts but added that he also plans to speak with Horner to address the ongoing rumors directly.
"A conversation with explosive potential," Bild concluded.
