Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has revealed that Sebastian Vettel has a get-out clause in his contract, after rumours circulated that the German broke his contract to force through a move away.

Vettel had recently denounced any reports of him leaving Red Bull, but shook the world of Formula 1 after telling Red Bull that he would be leaving earlier today.

"He didn't break his contract. There was a clause in his contract that he could go and recently he told us," Marko told Sky Sports News.

"There is no bad feeling. We need drivers who are fully motivated and for him after a lot of success he was looking for a new challenge and we have a very, very promising young driver (Kvyat) which we are looking to see next year. So we try to repeat it with another young driver."

Daniil Kvyat has been announced as Vettel's replacement, as the four-time world champion looks likely to be heading to Ferrari.
