This weekend at the Austrian GP, Mick Schumacher's mother, Corinna Schumacher, has made an ultra- rare visit to the Formula 1 paddock.
As reported by Kleine Zeitung, Corinna Schumacher—the wife of the renowned but now incapacitated F1 icon Michael Schumacher— "normally isolates herself from the public."
Accompanied by her son Mick, 25, Mrs. Schumacher was seen entering the Red Bull Ring on Thursday and Friday.
Mick is considered a strong contender to re-join the F1 race lineup next year as Pierre Gasly's teammate at Alpine.
While not actively managing her son's career, Corinna is well-acquainted with Alpine's new executive advisor Flavio Briatore, recalling his tenure as the team leader at Benetton where her husband Michael secured his initial two of seven world championships during the mid-1990s.
"Driver market interests for her son are one of the possible reasons for her presence," noted the respected Italian sports newspaper, La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Next week, Mick is slated to pilot a two-year-old Alpine at Paul Ricard in what the media has termed a 'shootout' with Jack Doohan for the 2025 race seat alongside Gasly. body check tags ::
