Toro Rosso's Max Verstappen has clocked the fastest time of 1:25.990 in the first practice session ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix.
The drivers had to endure some slippery conditions inside the first 15 minutes of the session due to a damp track, but it soon cleared up.
Verstappen was the first to record a lap time with 1:35.283, while recently-crowned Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton went second-fastest with a first lap time of 1:31.160, but eventually finished 11th quickest.
McLaren's Jenson Button had some trouble with a power issue, but the drama came when Felipe Nasr's Sauber spun at the last corner, managing to avoid crashing into the barriers.
Nico Rosberg also had trouble in his Mercedes as he screeched to a halt in front of the barriers, and had to climb out of the car due to his brakes catching on fire.
Daniil Kvyat finished second fastest, with Ferrari duo Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel third and fourth respectively.
