Pastor Maldonado has downplayed yet another collision involving him as "a racing incident", following Sergio Perez's criticism after having to retire from the British Grand Prix.
Perez believes the stewards should investigate the Venezuelan driver, citing previous recent collisions, but the Williams driver has put the incidents down to coincidence.
"I don't think much will happen," Maldonado said. "It was a racing incident. I was coming out of the pits, with cold tyres, I was trying to defend my position. Perez tried to close the door and we were very close to each other.
"At that point I lost the rear of the car a bit and unfortunately we made contact and we compromised both of our races."
Maldonado remained on track after the incident, finishing 16th in the race.
