England's Danny Willett has taken a two-shot lead during the second round of The Open.
The 27-year-old from Sheffield followed up his six-under-par round of 66 yesterday with a 69 on a rain-affected second day at St Andrews.
Willett played the first 10 holes today without a bogey and four birdies to reach 10-under, but bogeys at 15 and 17 saw him drop back to eight-under.
He put himself two shots clear of Marc Warren (69) and Zach Johnson (71) with a birdie at the last, though, to set the clubhouse lead.
There has not been an English winner at The Open for 23 years since Sir Nick Faldo's triumph at Muirfield.
Willett was one shot behind overnight leader Dustin Johnson at the start of the day. The American does not tee off until 5.48pm this evening and is unlikely to complete his second round today.
