Sergio Garcia has claimed that The Masters will not serve as a distraction when he looks to triumph at the Houston Open this week.
The Spaniard will continue his search for a first Major success next week, but he is keen to focus on finding his top form in Texas rather than working on areas of his game which could make a difference at Augusta.
"I think that there's no doubt that obviously The Masters is in the back of our minds, but I'm here to play well, to get in some good rhythm, to have a chance at winning this week and then as soon as Sunday finishes then I'll concentrate on The Masters," Garcia told reporters.
"I'm not going to be on the golf course this week thinking maybe let's try this shot because I'll have it next week on the 12th or on the 15th or something like that. No. I'm going to be focused on what I want to achieve here and then when Sunday finishes then I can concentrate on next week.
"I felt really comfortable here when I came last year. I wanted to try it again this year and hopefully I'll do better next week, too."
Garcia has not won an event since the Qatar Masters in January 2014.
