World number one Scottie Scheffler is one of three players who is at the top of the Masters leaderboard after round two.

Scheffler headed into the first major of the year with the distraction of awaiting the birth of his first child, and that is something that remains the case.

Nevertheless, the American was able to battle the gusty conditions late on Friday to post a 72, an impressive score in the circumstances with just eight players going under-par.

Although Scheffler played the final eight holes of his round in one-over - bogeying the par-five 13th, of all holes - he will be more than satisfied with coming through the final five with no further errors.

Max Homa and Bryson Dechambeau share the lead with their compatriot, with Homa shooting 71 earlier in the day and Dechambeau content with a 73 as he stayed at the top of the leaderboard.

Denmark's Nicolai Hojgaard is two shots adrift in fourth, with Cameron Davis, Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Aberg - the only player to shoot below 70 - also in close proximity.

Tiger Woods impresses at Augusta

Faced with 23 holes on Friday courtesy of the delayed start to the tournament, many felt that Tiger Woods may struggle to handle the extra workload.

Instead, the five-time winner made a record-breaking 24th successive cut at Augusta as he left himself seven shots behind the leaders.

Woods shot a level-par 72 which included four birdies and four bogeys, with the 48-year-old delighted to put himself into the mix in a share of 22nd.

However, some of the other big names only narrowly avoided missing the cut - Rory McIlroy recording a 77 to sit in tied-35th on four-over.

Defending champion Jon Rahm is a shot further behind in 44th, while another former winner in Hideki Matsuyama was among a host of players that all edged their way into the weekend in 50th. body check tags ::
