Rickie Fowler's hopes of winning his first green jacket at The Masters swiftly dwindled after he carded an opening-round eight-over-par 80 at Augusta National.
The 27-year-old, who is still searching for his first Major title, started poorly by scoring a double bogey on the opening hole after finding himself in the pine straw from his drive.
Fowler looked to have fought back as he birdied three of the next four holes, but after moving to even par at the turn, things worsened for the American.
The former US Open runner-up suffered a triple bogey on the 13th and a double bogey on the par-three 16th before shooting another bogey on the final hole.
Fowler could be in danger of missing the cut as he sits tied-83rd in the field.
