Former tennis star Ashleigh Barty has admitted that she is looking to "test herself" after signing up to a golf exhibition.
Last month, Barty shocked the tennis world by announcing her retirement at the age of 25, the then-world number one saying that she had achieved everything that she wanted in the sport.
However, it is widely known that Barty is a multi-talented sportswoman, particularly in golf with her handicap said to have been as low as four.
Now, it has been revealed that the Australian will participate at the Icon Series event in July, a move which will inevitably lead to speculation about a future transition to the sport.
Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Barty said: "It's such a unique opportunity to have fun, test yourself and compete.
"I hope through my participation in the series that we can encourage more women and girls to participate in golf around the world."
Barty also played professional cricket in the 2015 Big Bash League. body check tags ::
