Luke Donald has said that he believes Rory McIlroy is a more naturally talented golfer than 14-time major winner Tiger Woods.

Woods has suggested that he is back on course to rediscover the form that saw him dominate the game for the best part of ten years, after claiming his first win in two years.

However, Donald believes it is current US Open champion McIlroy who is the more gifted performer.

"In terms of talent I think Rory has more. I think Tiger's work ethic has always been tremendous and his mindset as well," said Donald.

"He's young, he's got a great future ahead of him and I see him winning lots of tournaments and lots of majors.

"I'm not surprised the year that he's had, he probably hasn't won as much as he thought, but he's got time for that and I'm sure he'll put up a good challenge this week."

The Englishman goes head to head with McIlroy for the European Tour money list title this week.
