Europe have gained a one-point lead in the Solheim Cup following a fightback by the USA at Killeen Castle in Ireland.
The morning foursomes had ended 2-2, and Europe's women led in four of the afternoon's fourballs before America came back.
It took a last-hole win for Suzann Pettersen and Anna Nordqvist against Michelle Wie and Cristie Kerr to give the Europeans the lead.
Pettersen won both of her matches on the Irish course, as did American Paula Creamer.
