Scott Hend has described his triumph at the Hong Kong Open as "very special" after he came through a playoff earlier today to win his first European Tour event.
The Australian finished level with Angelo Que at the top of the leaderboard, but beat the Filipino on the first hole of their playoff when his opponent made a bogey.
The winner told reporters: "Finally at the age of 41 I've won a European Tour event. It's very special. I live to play golf and this is what it's all about. This is what makes it worthwhile.
"I'm good mates with Angelo and I feel bad for him making the bogey the way he did. Of course we want to win but you don't want to see your competitor make a mistake for you to win. But I'll take the win and treasure it."
Hend, who has five wins on the Asian Tour, will compete in Macau next week, where he is the defending champion.
