Hunter Mahan has admitted that he felt stressed throughout the day as he battled the conditions to end round two of the WGC-Cadillac Championship with a share of the lead.
The American finished the day on one-under-par alongside three other players thanks to a round of 74 but he was quick to acknowledge just how difficult he found it at Doral on Friday.
"I felt stressed all day, because I knew every shot had 'big penalty' written all over it," Mahan told reporters.
"It was a really tough day. There wasn't an easy shot out there. One of those rounds where it could go south pretty fast, so you've got to grind it out and find a way to get a number up there and get to the weekend."
Mahan is looking for his first win since April 2012.
