World number two Jon Rahm holds firm during the final round of the Mexico Open to win the tournament by one shot.

Jon Rahm has recorded the seventh PGA Tour win of his career by prevailing at the Mexico Open.

The world number two has witnessed Scottie Scheffler storm clear at the top of the global standings, but the Spaniard is now back in the mix after triumphing on Sunday.

Rahm has spent the tournament at the top of the leaderboard and despite strong pressure from the chasing pack, a final round of 69 was enough to seal the win.

Brandon Wu and Tony Finau both came out of nowhere to heap the pressure on the eventual victor, the pair posting 63 on Sunday to end the tournament in a share of second alongside Kurt Kitayama.

Further down the leaderboard, Cameron Champ was one of four players who finished in a share of sixth, but England's Aaron Rai shot 72 on the final day to conclude the tournament in 24th spot. body check tags ::
