Martin Kaymer has revealed his excitement about returning to the European Tour ahead of the KLM Open in Holland.
The two-time Major winner's failure to secure a spot in the FedEx Cup playoffs means that he will no longer be a full member on the PGA Tour, which will restrict him to 12 events in the USA next year.
However, Kaymer insists that he is delighted to be competing in Europe again as he bids to repeat the victory he celebrated at the 2010 KLM Open.
"I'm incredibly relieved to come back to Europe after that long stretch in America fighting to make the FedEx Cup playoffs," the 30-year-old told reporters. "At the time of course I wanted to make the playoffs, but now I'm happy that I can be back here.
"It's natural that when you can play at home or near where you're from, it's always more comfortable, so I'm enjoying being here and I'm looking forward to it."
Kaymer has not won a tournament since last year's US Open.
