Ross Fisher has decided not to take part in this week’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio, opting to remain at home with his wife and ill son.
The world number 64’s three-month-old Harry was taken to hospital on Saturday night, but the player’s manager Conor Ridge has said that his life is not in danger.
"Harry should be fine - it looks like it's just precautionary," he said.
The 30-year-old qualified for the event as he was a member of Europe’s 2010 Ryder Cup-winning side.
Fisher has four European tour titles to his name, while his best Major finish was coming fifth place in the 2009 US Open.
