Charl Schwartzel shot a 66 on Saturday to reduce Lee Westwood's lead in the Thailand Golf Championship to four heading into the final day.
Westwood started the day with a lead of 11 after a record breaking opening two rounds at the Amata Spring Country Club but struggled to reproduce the same form on Saturday and finished with a round of 73.
Masters champion Schwartzel was quick to capitalize on Westwood's unconvincing start and the South African hit four birdies in a row on the front nine.
A blemish in the form of a bogey on the 18th was a disappointing end to a near perfect round of golf by Schwartzel.
Westwood remains in control of the tournament after an exhilarating first two days and will play with Schwartzel in the final round in Thailand on Sunday.
