US Open champion Webb Simpson has taken a one-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Greenbrier Classic.
Simpson, who is playing in his second tournament since his maiden major triumph, hit four birdies in a second-round 66 to head a group of five players.
Charlie Beljan was the pick of those players after he carded a round of 62, but there was disappointment for Tiger Woods, who missed his second cut of the year when a second-round 69 gave him an overall score of even-par.
Woods recorded three birdies in his final seven holes, but that was not enough to avoid missing the cut, a fate shared by fellow American Phil Mickelson.
