Reigning Masters and US Open champion Jordan Spieth has vowed to work on his mental game after missing the cut at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
The 22-year-old, who carded a second-round 73 to miss the cut by three strokes at TPC Boston, has now missed successive cuts for the first time in his career.
"I'm hitting the ball as well as I was in the PGA, as well as I was at The Open. I have control of the golf ball just fine. For whatever reason I'm not scoring," Spieth told reporters.
"Today it was my putter. [Thursday] was my irons, my distance control from the fairways. Just not everything is exact and fine tuned like it has been this whole year.
"Normally my mental game is my strength and it's something I feel like I have an advantage over other players on. These past two weeks it was a weakness for me, and I've just got to go back and reassess how to remain positive.
Charley Hoffman leads the Deutsche Bank Championship at the halfway stage after shooting an eight-under-par second-round 63.
