Tiger Woods will make his first appearance at the Wyndham Championship this week, according to agent Mark Steinberg.
Last week, Woods missed the cut for the third successive Major tournament at the US PGA Championship, and that competition had been expected to represent Woods's final event of the PGA Tour regular season.
However, after initially entering the Wyndham Championship just before the deadline, it has been confirmed that the American will now make one final attempt to qualify for the Fedex Cup playoffs.
Steinberg told ESPN.com: "We discussed it in detail over the weekend. It was not appropriate to confirm during the PGA Championship. Tiger has heard great things about the event and is looking forward to the week."
Woods will need to win the tournament to give himself an opportunity of making the end-of-season playoffs.
