Lee Westwood has revealed that he is in a good position to succeed at the US PGA Championship.
The 38-year-old, who has had a mediocre season so far, finished joint ninth at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday with a final day 65.
The world number two, who previously admitted that he needed to work on his putting, believes that he is in good shape ahead of the PGA tournament.
"The way I'm hitting the ball, the harder the better really," Westwood told Sky Sports News. "I haven't hit many bad shots, I've missed probably three fairways so that's good golf round here and I've not missed many greens either."
Speaking after the Invitational, Westwood added: "Today [Sunday] I really started to get the hang on the greens and rolled a few more.
“It's moving along nicely. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but today I felt a lot more confident on the greens and saw the ball setting off on the line I'd picked a lot more often."
The US PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday, August 11.
