Tiger Woods has struggled on his return to the PGA Tour, carding a two-over 73 in the opening round of the Frys.com Open.
The 35-year-old described the round as "one of the worst putting rounds [he's] ever had".
Woods, making his first appearance for nearly two months, opened with a birdie at the first before his round began to unravel on the following hole.
His round included a double bogey at the 12th when he lost his ball.
The 14-time major winner dropped out of the world's top 50 for the first time in 15 years recently.
There is a four-way tie for the lead in California between Brendan Steele, Briny Baird, Garrett Willis and Matt Bettencourt, who sit six shots ahead of Woods on four-under par.
