Brandy Snedeker 'feeling good' ahead of US PGA Championship

Brandy Snedeker feels that he is recapturing the form he showed before a five-week layoff with a rib injury hampered his progress this season.

Brandt Snedeker has said that he is feeling good about his game ahead of this week's US PGA Championship at Oak Hill, New York.

The 32-year-old, who won the Canadian Open two weeks ago, had four top-three finishes in his first five events of the season, which also included his only other title this year - the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February.

However, a rib injury saw him out of action for five weeks and, since returning, he has seen opportunities at slip at The Masters and the US Open, while a promising start to the Open Championship was spoiled by a 79 on day two.

Despite that, Snedeker feels that he is beginning to recapture his scintillating early-season form.

"I feel really good about my game coming into this week, I feel good about having a better idea of what it takes to win [a Major]," Snedeker told Reuters.

"I feel like I am playing like I was at the beginning of the year. I feel like I am close to playing some great golf. I am a lot more relaxed now and I'm a lot more into the process and realising that a lot more goes into winning Majors than just hitting the golf ball good.

"You've got to do a lot. You have to think well, you have to hit the ball in the right spots, you've got to get up and down when you need to, that kind of stuff."

Snedeker tees off alongside Nicolas Colsaerts and Jason Day.
