Graeme McDowell has been knocked out of the WGC World Match Play Championship by Victor Dubuisson.
The Northern Irishman lost to Dubuisson in the quarter-finals on Saturday, squandering his chance to reach the semis for the first time in the process.
The 34-year-old world number 15 was two ahead after just three holes against his French opponent, who then picked up two birdies to level the match.
Dubuisson went ahead at the ninth after hitting another birdie and took six at the par-five 13th, with McDowell falling behind again after three-putting the 16th and eventually losing the contest one up.
Also on Friday, veteran South African Ernie Els got the better of Jordan Spieth of the USA 4&2 to reach the semi-finals and maintain his chances of becoming the oldest winner of the tournament at 44 years of age.
Els will take on Dubuisson for a place in the final, while Rickie Fowler will face Jason Day in the other semi-final.
American Fowler, 25, recovered from losing four successive holes to beat Jim Furyk one up, while Day brushed aside Louis Oosthuizen 2&1.
