Paul Lawrie has opened up a three-up lead over Brandt Snedeker at the turn in their Ryder Cup singles match at Medinah.
Lawrie holed a crucial putt for a half at the third hole, before getting into trouble on the fourth by hitting it past the green and into the rough.
However, the Scot lived up to his 'Chippy' nickname by holing his pitch to take a one-up lead.
Lawrie then played a beautiful approach to the fifth to leave himself with a putt for eagle, which he made to extend his lead to two holes.
He managed to extend his lead to three up on the ninth as they turned for the back nine.
