Brendon de Jonge leads by a single shot at the halfway stage of the Valspar Championship, following a round of 69.
The Zimbabwean began the day two strokes behind overnight leader Brian Davis, but began to move for the top of the leaderboard after birdieing the opening hole at the Innisbrook Resort.
De Jonge did drop a shot at the sixth, but quickly atoned with further birdies at the seventh and ninth to reach the turn in 34.
He gave back a stroke after carding a six at the 14th hole, but picked up a shot at the last to reach the clubhouse at six-under-par, one ahead of Jordan Spieth and Henrik Stenson, who are tied for second heading into the weekend.
First-round leader Davis saw his challenge fade after five consecutive bogeys on the closing holes left him at one-under for the tournament.
