Nic Henning is leading the way at the Joburg Open following a nine-under first-round 62 on the West Course in Johannesburg.
The South African native stormed through the first three holes with two birdies and an eagle.
Five further birdies helped Henning end the round on top with a one-shot lead above fellow countrymen Titch Moore and Tjaart Van der Walt, both of whom hit eight-under 63s.
Belgium's Thomas Pieters is also in contention after carding eight birdies and an eagle, but bogeys on the 16th and 18th holes hampered his chances of taking the lead.
On the East Course, the best score of the round belonged to Wallie Coetsee, who ended six-under following seven birdies and a bogey.
