The French rookie made an eagle and five birdies as he moved to nine under, one shot clear of Alex Noren of Sweden, who also posted a bogey-free 63.
Englishman Andrew Johnston ended the morning on seven-under, with 18 players within four shots of the lead at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.
Defending champion Danny Willett began his afternoon round at five-under, while Lee Westwood, one of five European Ryder Cup players competing, shot a four-under 66 to move to two-under.
