Hideki Matsuyama remains on course for his first win at a World Golf Championships after taking a three-shot lead into the final round of the HSBC-Champions event in Shanghai.
The Japanese player held the advantage at the halfway stage after rounds of 66 and 65 and although he could not match that standard on Saturday, a 68 was enough to maintain his advantage over the rest of the field.
Defending champion Russell Knox remains in second after also shooting a 68, while Daniel Berger made ground on the pair after an impressive 67.
The top five is completed by Francesco Molinari and Bill Haas, with England's Ross Fisher in a share of sixth position and seven shots adrift of Matsuyama.
Rory McIlory, Henrik Stenson, Shane Lowry and Thomas Pieters all feature in the top 10 but they require a stellar final round to challenge for the title after ending Saturday eight shots behind.
