Graeme McDowell has moved one shot clear after the second round of the OHL Classic after recording 63 on Friday.
After falling to 85th position in the world rankings, McDowell is under pressure to post a significant result ahead of the high-profile events in the spring, and the Northern Irishman went some way to achieving that during the second day's play in Mexico.
The 36-year-old hit nine birdies to move himself to the top of the standings, narrowly ahead of American player Derek Fathauer.
Scotland's Russell Knox, who won the WGC-HSBC Champions event last week, is in a tie for 14th place, five shots behind McDowell.
