Paul Casey claimed a share of the lead with Zach Johnson and Jimmy Walker on the opening day of the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.
The Englishman, who has not won a tournament in 2015, finished the first round in style by carding his sixth birdie of the day on the 18th hole.
It was enough to move him to six-under-par alongside American duo Jimmy Walker and Zach Johnson.
Walker was level-par at the turn, but he found form with the putter to record six birdies on the back nine to climb up the leaderboard.
Johnson's 66 included five birdies of his own on the back nine as the Open champion made a strong start at the Albany Golf Club.
World number one Jordan Spieth, who won this event last year, delivered the highlight of the day with a hole in one at the second hole on the way to joining a group of five players sitting one stroke behind the leaders.
Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, Bill Haas and Brooks Koepka also finished the day on five-under.
