Scott Piercy has a two-shot lead after day one of the Shell Houston Open following an opening round of 63.

Piercy then sunk a 31-foot putt for a two at the ninth, to reach the turn in six-under-par for his round.
The 36-year-old continued his faultless round with further birdies at 10, 13 and 18 to reach nine-under and lead by two from JB Holmes.
Holmes held an eagle putt at the 10th, picked up six more birdies and one bogey on his way to seven-under-par.
