American Patrick Reed and Scotland's Martin Laird have taken a share of the lead heading into the second round of The Barclays in Farmingdale, New York.
The pair finished the opening round with five-under-par 66s, while four golfers, including Rickie Fowler, sit just one shot off the pace.
Reed had an unblemished round as he carded three birdies and an eagle on the fourth hole, while Laird shot birdies on five holes on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Henrik Stenson, who won The Open earlier this year, has withdrawn from the tournament after a previous knee injury flared up during his round, which he finished three-over-par.
Recently-crowned Olympic champion Justin Rose had a disappointing day on the course as he hit five bogeys to end the day two-over 73.
