England's Ross McGowan has carded a nine-under-par second round of 62 to move three shots clear at the halfway mark of the Joburg Open in South Africa.
The 33-year-old made six birdies, two eagles and just one bogey on the West Course at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club to reach 14-under for the tournament.
He is three clear of a four-way tie for second that includes another Englishman, Anthony Wall.
McGowan is chasing a first win on the European Tour since triumphing at the 2009 Madrid Masters.
