A playoff to decide the winner of the RSM Classic reached the third extra hole before play was suspended due to bad light.
A captivating finale at the Sea Island Golf Club saw as many as five players finish three shots ahead of the rest of the field, with Camilo Villegas, Henrik Norlander, Blayne Barber, Mackenzie Hughes and Billy Horschel all vying for the trophy.
Horschel was eliminated at the first extra hole after missing a two-foot putt for par, while nothing could separate the remaining quartet on the next as they all registered par for a second time.
With darkness setting in, the decision was made to return on Monday to complete the tournament, with only Villegas having previously triumphed on the PGA Tour.
In regular play, Jim Furyk finished in a tie for sixth position but English pair Ian Poulter and Luke Donald could only end the event in a share of 36th place.
