Jason Day battles through symptoms of vertigo to earn a share of the lead at the US Open going into the final day of the competition.

Jason Day has rallied from suffering vertigo on day two of the US Open to earn a share of the lead after the third round of the tournament.

The 27-year-old fell down on the course during his second round and was diagnosed from suffering from Benign Positional Vertigo as he finished the day on two-under.

However, Day battled through his symptoms and managed to record a two-under display of 68 at Chambers Bay to earn a share of the lead going into the final day of the tournament.

Jordan Spieth had a tough time during a round where he struggled with his putting as his four birdies were cancelled out by five bogeys, leaving him to card a round of one-over 71 to reach the end of Saturday's play on four-under.

The duo are joined in the lead by South African Branden Grace and America's Dustin Johnson, who both carded par rounds of 70, although a double-bogey by Johnson on the 13th hole cost him the outright lead at Chambers Bay.

One of the overnight leaders Patrick Reed had a day to forget as he put in a six-over performance of 76 to drop back into tied-ninth in the competition.

The chasing pack consists of Louis Oosthuizen – who carded the best round of the day at four-under – along with Cameron Smith, Shane Lowry and JB Holmes, who all sit on one-under, three shots off the pace.
