Teenage Welsh gymnast Laura Halford has revealed that she didn't expect to win an individual medal at the Commonwealth Games.
Halford, 18, now has two medals after she added the individual all-around bronze to the team silver that she won with teammates Francesca Jones and Nikara Jenkins yesterday.
"My main focus coming in was the team competition because I knew we had a strong chance and then today I just wanted to do my best," she told reporters this evening. "To get a medal is just a bonus."
Halford also said that both today's and yesterday's triumphs gave her equal satisfaction.
"They both give me the same amount of happiness," she added. "The team have been training together for two years so all our hard work has come together and we have such a great bond as a team.
"To get one for myself is just amazing because I didn't expect it."
Halford will now go for more medals tomorrow morning after qualifying for the finals of the hoop, ball and ribbon disciplines.
