After collecting her second medal of the Commonwealth Games for Wales, Laura Halford insists that she won't celebrate her success quite yet.

Double Commonwealth Games medallist Laura Halford has said that she won't properly celebrate her success for Wales until the end of the rhythmic gymnastics competition tomorrow.

Halford has won medals on both days of the Games so far, clinching silver in the team final yesterday before she won bronze in the individual all-around event today.

She can now add to her Glasgow haul as she has qualified for three of the four apparatus finals - hoop, ball and ribbon - that take place tomorrow morning.

Speaking to Sports Mole after the medal ceremony this evening, the 18-year-old said: "I'm just going to put this [medal] to the back of my mind and remember that I can celebrate properly after the competition tomorrow."

After the first round of today's event, Halford was in first place and she said that it was "amazing" to see her name at the top of the standings.

"Yeah when I saw my name at the top of the scoreboard it was incredible," she added. "I knew that wherever I came I'd be happy as long as I'd done good routines.

"To be able to see my name at the top of such a strong field was just amazing."

Halford's Welsh teammate Francesca Jones won the silver medal, while Canadian starlet Patricia Bezzoubenko claimed her second gold of the Games.
