Team Wales gold-medal winner Francesca Jones has revealed how she sat in "amazed shock" as an enquiry that threatened her victory was considered.
In a nervous end to what was her last ever routine, 23-year-old Jones was forced to wait until Canadian Patricia Bezzoubenko had her enquiry into the ribbon event looked at.
However, after a short yet anxious wait for Team Wales, their gymnast prevailed after the appeal was rejected.
She told reporters: "It was quite difficult because I saw [the enquiry] up on the screen and I thought 'oh, that's something that's possible. Really?'
"I was sat there in amazed shock anyway. I didn't want to get too excited too soon and then when [it was rejected], well I can't even explain it."
Bezzoubenko won all five other gold medals in the team event - all-around, hoop, ball and clubs finals.
